What is your understanding of the Region Advisor role and how does your experience relate to the role?

A Region Advisor's role is to support, coach and guide Districts to achieve the District mission. Leaders face many challenges and by sharing ideas, best practices, coaching, and problem solving, we can empower District leaders to succeed. My 35 years plus of mortgage banking experience helps with analysis and problem solving. My mentoring and coaching Toastmaster leaders as well as my proficiency in public relations and savvy marketing experience all relate to the role of Region Advisor.

What is your experience with coaching individuals and/or teams?

I love coaching and mentoring and have done so in both my careers and in Toastmasters as early as 1981. In Toastmasters, I've coached several District leadership teams across the globe in many Regions. At the break of the 2019 pandemic, I coached Hawaii District 49 Director to Distinguished District (Smedley in Membership numbers and Distinguished clubs); to become ONE of only TWO Distinguished Districts in the USA in the 2019-2020 term. Being a strong advocate for empowerment, I believe coaching strategic planning, execution, expecting the unexpected, and a positive mindset gives the protege empowerment and enhances their success.

Why are you interested in serving as Region Advisor?

I am passionate about Toastmasters! I am interested in serving as Region Advisor to give back to fellow Toastmasters the over 11 years of rewarding experiences I have gained, and the lessons learned from serving in the District and in leadership. Those include mentoring, coaching, facilitating, and training skills such as team collaboration that can support the Districts to help maximize their performances in achieving the District mission.
