What is your understanding of the Region Advisor role and how does your experience relate to the role?
A Region Advisor is more than a liaison, they are a mentor, a coach, and a strategic guide for district leaders. Their mission is to help leaders understand their roles, develop effective strategies. They provide training, offer encouragement, and act as a vital bridge between districts and World Headquarters. When I was Immediate Past District Director especially after my district was split into two, I naturally stepped into this kind of role. I supported both new districts with clarity, dedication, and high standards. I thrive on challenges. I see them as catalysts for growth both mine and others. My mindset is always forward and upward, driven by vision, effort, and perseverance. During my term as District Director, I worked closely with two Program Quality Directors and two Club Growth Directors. My leadership style is rooted in coaching empowering others, helping them uncover their strengths, and guiding them toward success. Today, I bring with me this experience, a genuine passion for mentorship, and the ability to inspire and connect. I am ready to serve as Region Advisor with the same energy, commitment, and belief in people’s potential.
What is your experience with coaching individuals and/or teams?
I am truly passionate about mentoring and coaching. I practice it through my YouTube channel Mentorattitude, but also professionally, where I manage an office of nearly 100 staff members as operations officer . I have organized and facilitated several team-building activities, both for my office in Conakry and for other WHO offices. As a senior Manager at the World Health Organization, I mentor many staff members ( WHO mentorship programme) and have coached diverse teams in different contexts. My experience with Toastmasters has also strengthened these skills. Our district spans several countries across West and Central Africa, where I have led multicultural teams, adapted to different working styles, and guided them toward ambitious goals. I have been fortunate to work with strong, motivated teams that I have inspired and supported to consistently meet and often exceed their objectives. This expertise in collaborative leadership, mentoring, and talent development is what I would like to bring to the districts entrusted to me, should I have the opportunity to serve as a Region Advisor.
Why are you interested in serving as Region Advisor?
I am willing to serve as a Regional Advisor because it is a natural continuation of my journey with Toastmasters. This role aligns with my two passions: collaborative leadership and mentorship. I even created a YouTube channel called Mentorattitude, dedicated to communication and leadership, where I regularly share insights and experiences to inspire and support aspiring leaders. The Districts I belong to are particularly vibrant. For over five consecutive years, we have earned the Smedley Award, and each year we see the rise of committed and high-performing leaders. This culture of continuous growth and excellence is a true asset, one that I am willing to share with other Districts striving to reach their full potential. My experience as a District Director, marked by meaningful achievements and deep learning, has given me a solid understanding of the key drivers of success. I now wish to put this experience to work for other Districts seeking to grow, strengthen their foundations, and build lasting momentum. In doing so, I hope to contribute to the long-term vitality and strength of Toastmasters International. This is the vision that inspires me and one I am ready to fully embrace as a Regional Advisor.
