Highlights from the military career of Maj. Gen. Laura Yeager:

1989—Completed training as a military helicopter pilot.

2010—Named deputy commander of 40th Combat Aviation Brigade, the first woman to hold the role.

2011—Deployed to Taji, Iraq, with her brigade to support U.S. combat operations.

2017—Named first female commander of Texas-based Joint Task Force North, helping fight drug trafficking and other international organized crime.

2019—Became first woman to lead a U.S. Army infantry division, taking command of the 40th Infantry Division.
