What key factors are most important as a Region Advisor to help the District achieve success?

Earning trust, being a reliable source of listening and coaching for the District leader, being knowledgeable of looming deadlines to enable District leaders meet them easily, motivating District leaders to want to lead their Districts to distinguished or better status. Being on top of the data-based decision making skills of the leaders is paramount. However, that cannot diminish the importance of person-to-person relationships that we have with each other and that the District leaders have with their teams as well.

What key strengths do you bring to the District leaders?

A strong focus on data-based decision making. I am an expert in leading the Districts using data that they may not be seeing in the correct perspective. I am an extremely long supporter and cheerleader for the District trio and hence the District leadership team. I bring a focus and an almost 24/7 availability to my trios for any help and support they need in any aspect of leadership, be it actual facts and data or the softer inter-personal challenges, conflict resolutions and motivational challenges.

Why are you interested in serving again as a Region Advisor?

Serving as a Region Advisor, I realized the tremendous help that Region Advisors provide. I have enjoyed my time as a Region Advisor for four struggling Districts and I believe that serving as a Region Advisor is the continuing next step in my journey of learning how to be a coach, mentor, and consultant. Since I serve in that capacity in my professional work as well, this experience will help me augment my capabilities while also giving back to my beloved Toastmaster community.

The opportunity to do good for the District leaders and to Toastmasters in general is not one to pass by lightly. I do not intend to do so. I am a Toastmaster for life, and this is the best way for me to give back to Toastmasters!
