What is your understanding of the Region Advisor role and how does your experience relate to the role?

The Region Advisor encourages, supports, and motivates District leaders in achieving the District Mission of building new clubs and helping all clubs achieve excellence. The Region Advisor mentors leaders, offers education and training, and facilitates peer group discussion. They are the link between the District and World Headquarters. During my time with Toastmasters, I have worked closely with Past Region Advisors to support both District 39 and other Districts in Region 1.

What is your experience with coaching individuals and/or teams?

As Division Director I coached each Area Director to work with and help their clubs be distinguished. As a team we made President’s Distinguished. As District Director I mentored each Division Director how to be successful leading their Area Directors. We held weekly conference calls and monthly meetings. Mentored other Districts to transition to a virtual club and District meetings and District events. Proud to have coached a novice leader to chair the 2017 District Spring Conference.

Why are you interested in serving as Region Advisor?

During my 18 years of Toastmasters journey, I have had opportunity to build new clubs, coach leaders of existing clubs, serve at every level of club and District leadership, facilitate education sessions, and mentor many members to personal and professional success. As Region Advisor I would like to share the knowledge and experiences I have gained to help District leaders navigate our current virtual and hybrid learning circumstances so they may continue to build new clubs.
