What key factors are most important as a Region Advisor to help the District achieve success:

Being a main support resource for the Districts can really help them in achieving success. The help and develop in putting together a success plan that can set their District up for success and then helping to encourage the leaders to revisit their plans throughout the year and continue to work on making changes to develop their plan further. Being that constant sounding board and mentor that can listen and provide unbiased feedback is something that is very important from the Region Advisor. Being a District leader can be stressful and not always feel rewarding, however as Region Advisor I have made it my goal to be that cheerleader for the Districts I support and let them know that I am always there to listen and give guidance when needed. Being a listener is such a key factor in being a Region Advisor, yes, we give feedback and advice as well as ideas and direction, but many times just being able to be that person that the District leaders can talk to and feel 100% support from is able to help them in continuing to more forward and achieve the success they desire.

What key strengths do you bring to the District leaders?

My energy, experiences, knowledge, creativity, and ability to listen and provide objective insight and feedback are some of the key strengths that I bring to District leaders. I have a highly positive and energetic personality and have been given feedback that it works very well with leaders when it comes to training and discussions and being able to mentor effectively. I am very knowledgeable about many areas of Toastmasters rules, guidelines, and protocols, as well as having an extensive network of mentors and support that if I do not know something, I am able to reach out effectively for further insight. I am a marketing professional with creative ideas and perspectives and keep a large database of files and successful past programs and campaigns that I retrieve and pull from at all opportunities for the District leaders to reference (if something works let's share it is my motto). When something has proven to be successful, I share it to help generate continued success. I am objective and a good listener (I continue to focus and improve upon listening skills daily) my goal is to always be that support system that the leaders need and feel comfortable confiding in, as this build the trust necessary. The trust that we have built allows our relationships to work together in harmony to achieve our goals and be successful together.

Why are you interested in serving as Region Advisor?

The Region Advisor role is one that I am very passionate about and have enjoyed all aspects of the journey so far. I feel that I have been able to serve as a valuable resource for the leaders and Districts that I am working with in Region 5 and I am personally continuing to grow and develop daily within my leadership development. I would like to serve for a second term as I feel as though I have just begun, and there is so much more for me to continue to learn, develop and give back to others. I have thoroughly enjoyed being in this role thus far and look forward to all that is still to come, truly the role of region advisor can only become stronger and built upon more during a second term. I have more that I want to give back.
