What is your understanding of the Region Advisor role and how does your experience relate to the role?

The Region Advisor supports District leaders in achieving their mission, of building new clubs and helping all clubs to achieve excellence. I have spent the last 13 years as a Club and District Officer supporting District 74 in doing that. I feel that I understand some of the challenges that District leaders face and could help and support them in moving obstacles to their success out of the way. As a District leader, I have received some fabulous advice from Region Advisors in the past and think that I am well positioned to offer that now too. Serving as a Region Advisor will put the time serving District 74 to good use.

What is your experience with coaching individuals and/or teams?

I have coached Toastmasters’ clubs to success. I have also supported and coached a number of District leaders over the past few years.

At work, I currently lead a team of six direct reports and have been leading local, regional, and global teams in a multinational corporate environment for many years. I coach my team members, but also peers at work approach me for guidance and support, and I know this comes from the skills I have gained at Toastmasters.

Why are you interested in serving as Region Advisor?

I would like to be part of the continued growth of Toastmasters around the globe. I believe that I can support District leaders in achieving the District mission. I enjoy working with most Toastmasters I have met and see the Region Advisor role as an opportunity to share my experience with a wider group of leaders. I also feel that continuing my journey as a leader will give me personal purpose in the organization. I have realized that I enjoy training and would love to use this skill to support our continued success.
