What is your understanding of the Region Advisor role and how does your experience relate to the role?

The Region Advisor’s role is to support District leaders in fulfilling the District mission to build new clubs and support all clubs in achieving excellence as measured by the District Recognition Program .The Region Advisor supports District leaders by guiding them in strategic planning, goal setting, leadership development, and team effectiveness to help their District succeed. Region Advisors facilitate communication between Districts and the Toastmasters Board, help interpret performance trends, and provide coaching to ensure district success. They are not decision-makers, but trusted partners who offer support, perspective, and accountability. As IT business for 15 years, I trained and helped customers from zero knowledge to fully automating their design with drafting operations. I am certified trainer in "Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment" from Institute of Adult Learners (IAL) Singapore. As Grassroots Leader, obtained Certificates in Community Development and Community Leadership by National Community Leadership Institute (People's Association, Singapore). As Toastmasters for 26 years, experiences in all leadership roles, especially as district trio working with members and leaders at all levels. These past experiences in different platforms developed my communication and leadership skills, I am more resilient person, able to work with people at all levels, I aspire to serve higher levels of leadership roles in the Toastmasters organization. I shared my past experiences, provided guidance to District leaders in achieving District mission. Significantly, I also conducted training to district leaders in the fulfillment of the District Success Plans, mentoring and motivating them.

What is your experience with coaching individuals and/or teams?

With 15 years of experience as CEO at an IT company, I advanced from serving as a solo CADD software instructor to managing teams specializing in technical skills development, sales, and business expansion. Within Toastmasters, I have provided coaching at all levels, including delivering training sessions for officers and district leaders, supporting the implementation of Club Success Plans, and guiding senior district leaders as District Director by prioritizing the District Success Plan. My expertise encompasses developing virtual Mandarin training to enhance accessibility, offering individual coaching for officers, and advising conference committees. These efforts have consistently focused on fostering skill development, collaborative teamwork, and effective leadership to achieve organizational objectives.

Why are you interested in serving as Region Advisor?

Receiving the Presidential Citation Award reaffirmed my dedication to Toastmasters. I understand the challenges District leaders face and am prepared to serve as a trusted partner who listens, offers practical solutions, and inspires success. This fourth application reflects my resilience and readiness. Since my earlier applications, I have strengthened my training abilities, delivering sessions in both English and Chinese at District, Division, and Club levels. Though my term as District Director was 10 years ago, I remain active, relevant, and committed to developing leaders. Region Advisors bridge international strategy with local needs, connect across cultures, and nurture future leaders. As Toastmasters celebrates its 101st anniversary and I mark 26 years of membership, I am ready to give back at a higher level of service.
