What is your understanding of the Region Advisor role and how does your experience relate to the role?
My understanding of the Region Advisor role is that it serves as a trusted partner and coach for district leaders, guiding them in strategic planning, goal setting, leadership development, and team effectiveness. Region Advisors act as a bridge between districts and the Toastmasters Board, helping leaders interpret performance trends while offering perspective and accountability to support informed decision-making. As a District Trio member, I educated leaders on performance metrics and supported them in achieving district goals. Professionally, as a Development/Operations Software Engineer, I’ve strengthened my analytical skills through understanding key performance indicators and facilitating clear communication between engineers and product teams. I also coach and support individual team members to enhance collaboration and performance. Additionally, my work as a Lean In Facilitator and ERG advisor/board member has equipped me to unify diverse groups, lead trainings, and foster inclusive, high-performing teams skills.
What is your experience with coaching individuals and/or teams?
Coaching has been one of the most rewarding parts of my leadership journey, within Toastmasters and beyond. My approach focuses on listening, asking open-ended questions, and empowering others to grow through their own solutions, while providing tools and guidance along the way. I’ve coached new club officers, helping them build confidence and find their voice as they navigated their roles. I coached members of my teams through out each level of my leadership in the District, guiding them through challenges and supporting their leadership growth as they served their clubs and divisions. I continue to support current district leaders navigating conflict, helping them refocus on the mission and rebuild trust among their teams. Professionally, I coach my junior teammates to handle difficult conversations with peers and leadership, to build confidence and communication skills. I’ve coached church team and board members through conflicts and challenges, fostering understanding and unity. Across these experiences, my goal has been to develop resilient, adaptable leaders by providing encouragement, perspective, and strategies for success. This coaching has strengthened my belief that when individuals are supported, teams thrive, and organizations achieve lasting impact.
Why are you interested in serving as Region Advisor?
During my district leadership years, I benefited from the guidance and mentorship of knowledgeable, supportive, dedicated Region Advisors. Their wisdom helped me grow as a leader, I would like to pay that gift forward by providing the same level of support to district leaders as they pursue the District mission. My experience in Toastmasters, in other volunteer organizations as well my career have equipped me with strong skills in relationship building, strategic planning, process improvement, and coaching. I am passionate about empowering others, fostering collaboration. I aspire to continue learning and growing as both a Toastmaster and a leader while supporting the next group of leaders on their journey. I enjoy working with others to help them reach their goals, overcome challenges, and realize their potential. As a Region Advisor, I would bring enthusiasm, integrity, compassion, and a deep commitment to service helping to support our leaders to thrive.
