What key factors are most important as a Region Advisor to help the District achieve success?

I believe one of the most important success factors is adding value to District leaders. This comes from celebrating their successes, encouraging, motivating, and supporting them, and most importantly building trust. At the District level, leaders need to know they are capable and have the skills to succeed. The Region Advisor, as coach and mentor, can reassure leaders when uncertain, offer guidance and direction as leaders address challenges, and help them to keep their focus on the district's goals. The Region Advisor is a facilitator, mentor, and coach who guides leaders to achieve their mission while never forgetting that it is people who create the result.

What key strengths do you bring to the District leaders?

I have a passion for adding value to people. This comes in the form of meeting leaders where they are, having meaningful conversations with them to help them cut through the noise to find what's really important. I believe that I have the ability to help leaders plan effectively. I have had the opportunity both in Toastmasters and in the community to create effective strategic plans. I have the ability to break complex tasks into simple steps. District leaders need to be able to see the next step and not get lost in the forest of "programs". I also have a working knowledge of the Toastmasters Governing Documents. I have found this valuable in answering leader's questions

Why are you interested in serving again as a Region Advisor?

I believe I can continue to guide District leaders by creating positive relationships and fostering a collaborative environment focused on achieving each District's goals. This upcoming year will be a year of transition for the regions in North America. I believe it is important to have continuity in the face of change. I have worked with my leaders to create an environment of trust, which fosters accountability. Accountability and trust are cornerstones of managing successful change. A second year will help to deepen the relationships which allow leaders the psychological safety with me act authentically as they seek to bring a diverse group of clubs an members together to achieve District success.
