What is your understanding of the Region Advisor role and how does your experience relate to the role?

The Region Advisor serves as a trusted advisor, confidant, and coach to the Trio, helping them meet and exceed the objectives of the District mission. A key focus of this role in supporting the Trio is accountability—setting clear goals, tracking progress, and ensuring the right support is in place when needed. Throughout my corporate career in Research, Technology Development, Marketing and Sales, and Project and Program Management, accountability has been consistently embedded through regular review meetings with my managers to discuss successes, challenges, and next steps. This structured approach has ensured transparency, prevented end-of-year surprises, and strengthened trust and mutual respect over time. I think this will add value to the work with District leaders in Region 10.

What is your experience with coaching individuals and/or teams?

I have a strong track record of coaching both individuals and teams to achieve success. Within Toastmasters, I have coached Executive Committee members—particularly Presidents and Vice Presidents Education—to help them lead their clubs to Distinguished status. I am currently coaching two members of the District Leadership Teams and the Executive Committee of a once struggling club. It has been incredibly rewarding to see their progress as they strive to deliver the District Mission.

One of my proudest achievements has been coaching the District 71 District Leadership Team and helping build a focused, high-performing team that worked with shared purpose and successfully delivered the District Mission, earning Select Distinguished status for the District in 2023-24.

Outside of Toastmasters, I have coached students preparing for selective schools, for university and I now coach early career employees.

Why are you interested in serving as Region Advisor?

I have been fortunate to learn from outstanding role models, including the Region 10 Region Advisors who encouraged me to develop, grow, and continue to serve.

I bring a strong and diverse skill set that will enable me to serve the Region effectively. My professional background in the corporate, community service, and legal sectors has equipped me with strong problem-solving, project management, critical thinking, and planning and organisational skills. In addition, my personal strengths include active and empathetic listening (developed through my work as a former Samaritan volunteer), emotional intelligence, and integrity. Together, these skills will allow me to serve as a supportive, trusted, and effective Region Advisor.

I thoroughly enjoyed my five years on the District Leadership Team, particularly my experience as District Director. The lessons I learnt during that time can be shared at the Regional level, and I look forward to supporting the District leaders in Region 10.
