The sooner your club completes the charter process, the sooner you will be able to select your path and complete interactive projects on Base Camp, the system that houses Pathways. Your Level 1 projects on Base Camp include videos and links that will enhance your experience and be helpful for understanding Base Camp and the many resources available to support your learning.

The Ice Breaker is your first opportunity to share something about yourself and your goals with other members of your club. Watch this short video to hear advice from members.

Club Experience

Each club is unique, but all Toastmasters club meetings share a few common practices. Watch this short video to learn how a club manages speakers, evaluations, and evaluations speeches.

Body Language

The way you gesture and move when you present can enhance or detract from you speech. Watch as Ramona J. Smith, the 2018 World Champion of Public Speaking, delivers a part of her winning speech. Pay attention to how she uses the space available to her, her gestures, and her expressions to emphasize parts of her speech and deliver her message.

Vocal Variety

How you deliver a speech has an important impact on your success. Pay attention to how he uses pace, volume, and even silence to tell his story and engage the audience.

Evaluation and Feedback

Studies show positive feedback leads to increased confidence and a greater likelihood of achieving goals. During a Toastmasters evaluation, bring attention to areas of the speech you thought were done well. Reinforce the speaker’s effective behaviors.
