Relevant work experience and how it relates to Toastmasters and your role as a Board member:

Worked with my late husband (died in 2015) to build a company that grew into an internationally accredited shopfitter of global brands (Estee Lauder Inc., L Beauty, etc). Worked to develop strategies for sustaining company growth through direct marketing, material production and finance management. I continually develop strategies to keep my companies competitive, expanding, and progressive.

What experience do you have in strategic planning?

Maintaining the growth of our 3 varied corporations entails continuous strategic planning to ensure progressive expansion and stability. Work with board of directors to create strategic and marketing plans for the businesses. Work with several not-for-profit local community organizations to augment the city government’s programs to create a better living environment for citizens. Our role is to help assess needs and then work with the government to fulfill those needs.

What experience do you have in the area of finance?

Our 3 corporations experience a 20 to 30% average growth annually. As the financial manager of all 3 companies, ensure continued solvency through equitable use of funds, collections, and employee retirement funds management, Manage payroll for some 150 fabricators/staff & 5 site subcontractors, adding new company plants as needed to accommodate expanding projects and sales.

What experience do you have in developing policies?

Take the lead in developing policies in marketing, finance, production and administration to ensure efficient operations and positive growth of construction company, design firm and diesel fine tuning.

What lessons did you learn from previous leadership positions?

Leadership entails sincere service, heartfelt commitment and fair treatment of others. Effective leadership is earned and requires putting people first, listening to them and making informed decisions for the good of all.

What experience and key strengths would you bring to the Board of Directors?

My extensive entrepreneurial experience brings to the board proven and varied skills in strategic planning, financial management, production knowledge, human relations, operational administration and teamwork. Toastmasters, while a non-profit organization, must be managed as a business to sustain the continuous growth and dynamic service to its members.

Why do you want to serve as an international officer/director?

I continue to be awed by the immensity of the growth of Toastmasters, its service to the members, and its venture to meet the needs of our younger membership with technology. I want to be a contributing member of the leadership of this great organization to help develop our future and ensure its continued solidarity.

What volunteer experience do you have outside of Toastmasters?

Serve as corporate planner of the “People’s Economic Foundation of Meycauayan”. It supplements the community needs of our town and its 800,000 citizens.

Have you worked with other Boards of Directors outside of Toastmasters? If so, describe your experience.

Serve on the Board of Directors for our family corporations and the other business which include our Australian partners. Serving in the family corporation is most challenging because you have to work with multiple personalities with whom you are often involved with 24/7,: business decisions must be made in an impartial manner and transcend differences. Combining the Australian and Philippine customs and cultures in a business partnership requires the boards on which I serve to develop policies and procedures which encompass both ideologies.

In your opinion, what are Toastmasters International’s major objectives and how would you work to achieve them?

I believe, Toastmasters International’s major goal is to provide dynamic, relevant, and experiential learning to develop the leadership and communication skills of its members. I would work with the Board of Directors to continue to develop programs to maximize club growth, upgrade educational programs and globalize services to growing multicultural members.

Additional information about candidate

At one time, I was involved in non-profit organizations such as Rotary, & Soroptimist simultaneously with Toastmasters. I opted to pursue my leadership path in Toastmasters because I believe in its personal value for everyone. I have never regretted it.
