What is your understanding of the Region Advisor role and how does your experience relate to the role?
The Region Advisor role is to support the District leaders in achieving the District mission. My experience of guiding leaders at various levels such as District, Division, Area, and Club will enable me to help District leaders in coming up with strategic plans to achieve the District mission, to develop good working rapport among the teams, and to effectively handle conflict management.
What is your experience with coaching individuals and/or teams?
At work, I collaborate with team members who are from varied backgrounds, and most of the times work remotely in other cities/countries. So, on a day-to-day basis, I am actively involved in mentoring newer colleagues and coaching my team members in project execution and career advancement. Having served at various leadership roles in Toastmasters, I have mentored/coached my fellow members at various levels, enabling them to take up leadership opportunities at various levels.
Why are you interested in serving as Region Advisor?
Having led the largest District in the world to be Smedley Distinguished, I believe the experience that I have gained can be effectively utilized in supporting other District leaders in achieving the District mission. On a personal level, having gained so much from this fraternity, I see this as an opportunity to give back by contributing to people's and Districts' successes beyond my home District. Also, this role provides me an opportunity to learn further and grow.
