What is your understanding of the Region Advisor role and how does your experience relate to the role?
The Region Advisor helps train, counsel, and encourage District leaders while holding them accountable to Toastmasters standards of excellence. They also act as a communications conduit between the Board of Directors, World Headquarters staff, and District leadership. As someone who trains business professionals, I have learned to adapt to all learning styles and personality types. My greatest asset is recognizing abilities in others and helping them to stretch themselves to achieve their full potential. As Region Advisor, I believe I could help build healthy, productive teams.
What is your experience with coaching individuals and/or teams?
I have 18 years of experience as a private piano instructor. I am currently a field trainer for LegalShield, and I coach insurance professionals both one on one and in small groups. As a Toastmasters trainer, I have had much success building balanced teams by assessing each team member's strengths and weaknesses, and pairing people together to create balance.
Why are you interested in serving as Region Advisor?
I want to give the District teams the same type of support and leadership I received from my Region Advisor. The Region Advisor should be the greatest source of mentoring and guidance a District leader can receive. If selected to serve in this role, I will continue to develop as a leader while helping to strengthen and support the leaders of Region 7.
