How does your experience relate to Toastmasters and the region advisor role:
For 12 years, I was a licensed realtor; I successfully marketed listings and my skills as an agent. For my job the past six years, I have been a Quality Assurance Lead. I lead a dynamic team of quality analysts for a number of projects. I have stayed informed on the Toastmasters organizational structure as well as the strategic plan, and I have attended 15 out of the last 17 International Conventions including the one in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Lastly, I have visited every district in Region 4 more than once, except District 99, who was new last year. I have enjoyed visiting with the members of every district. I have given a presentation for each district in Region 4 at a conference or TLI over the past 14 years. In 2017-2018, I facilitated District Leader Training in August and January.
What is your experience with coaching individuals and/or teams? What key strengths do you bring to the district leaders?
At my workplace, I was appointed as coach to our team's intern for the summer of 2016. Within Toastmasters, I was assigned as a mentor for two Division Directors for 2016-2017, by the Division Directors’ request. As a coach/mentor, I sit down with the individual to find out what their goals are and how they would like me to help them. On a regular basis, I touch base with them to see how things are going. I make sure they know that I am available anytime they have a question or need someone to listen.
Why are you interested in serving as region advisor?
I love Toastmasters. I want to help district leaders be successful in their very important roles of serving their members. By serving as a mentor, coach, trainer, and friend to the district leaders, I will help them have an enjoyable and rewarding year.
