Hazel Walker started out as an insurance agent in 1991 after her husband suffered a life-changing accident. She went from a shy, small-town girl raising three children and caring for a disabled husband to building an insurance agency by referral, using a structured system provided by Business Network International (BNI), an American franchised networking organization. In 1998, she bought the BNI Franchise for Central Indiana. It was her desire to help men and women around the world build business they loved through collaboration with other like-minded professionals.
Shortly after her purchase of the BNI franchise, she realized that it was going to be important to be able to communicate well from the front of the room as well as in one to one meeting opportunities. She joined Toastmasters in 1992 and began to hone her speaking skills.
Today, Hazel speaks around the world on the topic of building trusted relationships through the art of collaboration and communication. She owns six award-winning BNI Franchises in the U.S. and Canada and is a published book author.
In her spare time, she loves hiking and kayaking. She is the grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother to one, which she still cannot believe!
