District Leader August Training
District Leader Training is offered to the 2019-2020 district directors, program quality directors and club growth directors. District leaders will develop core leadership skills, share best practices and network with others from around the globe. This event will be held prior to the International Convention in Denver, Colorado
- Monday, August 19 and Tuesday, August 20
- Gaylord Rockies Resort and Conference Center
- Training sessions begin at 8 a.m. and end each day by 6 p.m.
Travel and Accommodations
Prior to the district elections, the District Growth and Support team will email each 2018-2019 district director with instructions for submitting election results. Once your district’s list of newly elected leaders is received, the incoming district director, program quality director and club growth director will each receive an email invitation from email@example.com with instructions for registering for district leader training and the International Convention.
The invitation includes instructions and a link to the online registration tool, which is the preferred method to book flights, hotel accommodations and to view travel details in one place.
Incoming leaders: Please book your airfare through our online registration tool so that the expense is approved and paid through our travel vendor, Travel Edge. If you choose to book your travel yourself, there is a maximum amount that will be applied to reimbursement requests. We recommend contacting firstname.lastname@example.org prior to booking your travel to find out the amount.
Toastmasters International will pay for round-trip transportation costs at the lowest rate for the most logical route between each invited leaders’ home city airport and the local airport DIA – Denver International Airport.
Leaders who drive to District Leader Training may request mileage reimbursement at the current rate stated in the invitation and may not exceed the amount of the lowest round-trip airfare rate. You can contact email@example.com to find out the maximum amount that can be applied to reimbursement requests.
Hotel accommodations and any other travel-related expenses (such as baggage fees) are the responsibility of the district leader and might be reimbursed by the district if such expenses are included in the budget. A special rate for rooms has been arranged for incoming district leaders. Once the online registration tool is accessed, hotel information is available on the Hotel tab.
After training, incoming district leaders will also have the opportunity to participate in the Toastmasters International Convention. The International Convention is the most anticipated event of the Toastmasters year, as members and non-members alike gather together to hear world class public speakers, network with like-minded people, elect International Officers and Directors, and attend the spectacular and soul-stirring public speaking competition known as the World Championship of Public Speaking.
