Toastmasters International is aware of the significant impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on individuals and communities worldwide. Our top priority is always the health and safety of our members, their families, our staff, and trusted partners. With this in mind, the Board of Directors has voted to cancel the 2020 Toastmasters International Convention that was to be held in Paris, France.

No, a live event will not be possible in 2020. However, the 2021 Toastmasters International Convention will be held in Paris, France.

While the 2020 International Convention has been cancelled, there are several events that will still be conducted. We are currently working on alternative methods to conduct District Leader Training, Candidate Showcase, the Annual Business Meeting, and the World Championship of Public Speaking®.
How will the Annual Business Meeting be conducted since the convention is cancelled?Back to Top
Per the Bylaws of Toastmasters International, a 2020 Annual Business Meeting will be conducted. More information will be available in the near future.
Will I receive a refund for my registration now that the event is cancelled?Back to Top
Yes, there is a flexible refund policy that gives registrants the option to apply their registration fee to the 2021 Toastmasters International Convention (happening in Paris, France), or receive a full refund. All requests must be submitted through a cancellation survey. This survey will be sent to registrants via email. All requests must be submitted no later than Wednesday, July 1, 2020. Otherwise, full refunds will be issued automatically within 7-10 business days from the July 1, 2020 cancellation request deadline.
What if I previously cancelled, will I receive a refund of the $25 USD cancellation fee?Back to Top
Yes, if you previously cancelled prior to the 2020 International Convention being cancelled, the $25 USD cancellation fee will be refunded to you.
I paid for my convention registration at the 2019 promotional rate or the 2020 early-bird rate. Will ToastmastersBack to Top
International honor that rate if I choose to cancel my current registration?
Unfortunately, if you choose to cancel your current registration at the 2019 promotional rate or the 2020 early-bird rate, we are unable to offer these price points at a later date. If you would like to keep your current registration rate, you have the option to rollover your registration to the 2021 International Convention at no additional cost.
I made a donation to the Ralph C. Smedley Memorial Fund ® as part of my registration. What happens to that?Back to Top
All donations are eligible for refund, requests must be submitted through a cancellation survey. This survey will be sent to you via email. All requests must be submitted no later than Wednesday, July 1, 2020. You will receive a follow-up communication from World Headquarters staff regarding your donation.
