1999 – 75th anniversary

Toastmasters International celebrates its diamond anniversary with a jubilee in Chicago, Illinois, for the 68th Convention, and the October issue of the Toastmaster is dedicated to honoring 75 years of success.

2003 – World Headquarters joins the internet

World Headquarters officially goes online to manage administrative operations. A computer system is implemented for staff to process online renewal payments, new member payments, education awards, and other transactions.

2004 – Toastmasters reaches 200,000 members and 10,000 clubs

Growth around the world propels the organization to new record numbers, and it maintains an upward trajectory in the years to follow. Territorial councils and clubs are present in countries like Japan, China, India, and areas of South America.

2008 – First African American woman wins World Championship of Public Speaking

LaShunda Rundles takes first place with her speech titled “Speak.”
