District Leader August Training

Congratulations on your recent election as a district leader! The District Services team looks forward to working with each of you over the next year. We’ll be pleased to meet you in person when you attend District Leader Training on August 18 and 19 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Once we receive your district’s list of newly elected leaders, you will receive an email invitation from districts@toastmasters.org with the subject line “Invitation to Register – District Leader Training”. This email includes a link to the online registration tool. Please locate the email to RSVP, book flight and hotel reservations and view travel details all in one place.

District Leader Training Dates
Monday, August 18 and Tuesday, August 19
Training sessions begin at 8 a.m. and end each day at 6:00 p.m.

Booking Your Travel and Reimbursement
By Air
Toastmasters International pays for district and lieutenant governors’ round-trip airfare costs at the lowest rate for the most logical route between your home city airport and the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Please see Policy 8.3: District Leader Expenses for details. Please locate the email at the top of this page and make your airfare accommodations through our online registration tool so that the expense is approved and paid through our travel vendor, Worldview Travel.

By Car
World Headquarters reimburses only the driver for mileage at the United States Internal Revenue Service business-standard rate. Mileage reimbursement may not exceed the lowest airfare rate. You must drive via the most direct route. With your reimbursement form, submit a MapQuest or Google Map that lists mileage from your destination to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

After District Leader Training, if applicable, please complete the Travel Reimbursement Form and submit it to districts@toastmasters.org along with proof of payment and all applicable documentation.

Hotel accommodations and any other travel-related expenses (such as baggage fees) are the responsibility of the district leader and may be reimbursed by your district if included in the district budget. Please refer to the email invitation mentioned at the top of this page. Once the online registration tool is accessed, you can find hotel information on the Hotel tab.

Per Diem
District governors attending the International Convention each receive a $30 USD per-diem (not to exceed $120 USD) when the district governor attends the Candidates’ Corner, Candidates’ Showcase, and the Annual Business Meeting. World Headquarters will be providing the $120 USD equivalent in Malaysian Ringgits.
