  • Dues Renewals - October 1 Deadline
    Club officers can submit dues renewals through the Toastmasters website beginning September 5. Please remember all renewals must be received at World Headquarters by October 1.

  • District Treasurers: Have You Submitted the Year-end Audit Report?

    The 2011-2012 Year-end Audit Report and supporting documents were due August 31. If you have not submitted them to World Headquarters, please do so. If you have questions, contact districtfinancialquestions@toastmasters.org. As a reminder, please send the Fixed Asset Template and the Accrual Template if you haven't already.


  • Public Relations Training Webinar - Mark Your Calendar

    Toastmasters International will hold a live webinar for public relations officers and lieutenant governors marketing September 18, 19 and 20. An invitation with access information was emailed August 29. If you have not received this email, please contact pr@toastmasters.org. The informative session defines the public relations officer's role and responsibilities and provides helpful tips about how to create and communicate the latest Toastmasters news to your audience.


  • Distinguished District Prerequisites due September 30

    To be eligible for Distinguished District recognition, your district must complete a District Success Plan and a Division and Area Governors Training Report (Item 1475) indicating that at least 85 percent of division and area governors were trained. Please submit both items through District Central by September 30, or email them to districts@toastmasters.org.


  • Submit Your District Budget

    Your 2012-2013 district budget is due to World Headquarters by September 30. Download the updated annual budget template from the District Finance Corner and review Webinar 4: Reconciling Bank Accounts for instructions about how to complete the template spreadsheet. Please email your budget to districtfinancialreports@toastmasters.org. If you have questions, please contact districtfinancialquestions@toastmasters.org.

     

  • Now Accepting Applications for 2013-2014 Region Advisors

    Are you interested in being a region advisor? Or do you know of someone who might want to apply for this volunteer position? The 2013-2014 application process is open until September 30.


  • District Governors: Appoint Your Nominating Committee Chair by October 1

    As you know, the district nominating committee is responsible for nominating candidates for district office. Please appoint a nominating committee chair no later than October 1, and the remaining committee members by November 1.



Monthly Club Statement

Monthly club statements are emailed to club presidents and treasurers. To ensure that these statements go to the correct person, please update your officer email addresses if you haven't done so already. Simply log in and enter your user name and password.

  1. Click Club Central (middle left of page).
  2. Click the club name and number.
  3. Under Conduct Club Business, click View/Update/Print my club membership roster.

District Conferences Are Approaching: Learn, Grow and Connect

Take another step toward leading and speaking with confidence by attending a district conference. You will gain valuable tips and tools for your personal and professional development and network with like-minded peers. Please check your district website for the date and time of your upcoming conference.

 

Clubs: Show off Your Brand

The winner of the August "Show off Your Brand!" contest will receive worldwide recognition this month. To win next month, simply submit a photo of your club members with your newly branded Toastmasters materials, and email the photo to brand@toastmasters.org by the end of September. Help Your District Grow with a Club Extension Chair

Your district can assign a club extension chair to assist the district governor and lieutenant governor marketing with new club leads. A club extension chair is a great resource to help contact leads in a timely manner. To add a club extension chair, send a request to districts@toastmasters.org. After your request is received, new club leads are forwarded to your district governor, lieutenant governor marketing and club extension chair.

Is your district scheduled to receive an international officer or director visit? If so, please view the District Visits webpage. Click on the appropriate visit you are scheduled to receive, and follow the steps to ensure your visit is a success.  

 

Honor Your Sponsoring Organizations

Take the opportunity to help your corporate clubs honor their sponsoring organizations with Toastmasters corporate recognition awards. For details about these awards, read the Guide to Corporate Visits (Item 128). To ensure timely delivery of your recognition items, please allow at least four weeks for processing and shipping.

District governors: Now is the time to order materials for your first conference. Name badges, welcome ribbons, certificate holders and many other supplies are available on the Toastmasters Online Store. View this flier for more information. Customizable products, including banners and tote bags, are also available for purchase. If you plan to create your own conference materials, you can submit them to brand@toastmasters.org for brand and trademark approval.

Congratulations to the World Champion of Public Speaking!

The title of 2012 World Champion of Public Speaking was awarded to Ryan Avery from Portland, Oregon, with his winning speech, "Trust Is a Must." Second- and third-place winners were, respectively, Palaniappa Subramaniam from Kulim, Kedah, Malaysia, with his speech, "Finding the Right Shoes" and Stuart Pink from Attleboro, Massachusetts, with his speech, "Brain Lifting: A Crash Course in Creativity." The updated PSA is available for free download from the Audio and Video Gallery of the online Media Center. This 30-second video features former Toastmasters Chris Matthews, a U.S. news anchor and political commentator, and Nancy Brinker, founder and CEO of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Post this video on your club and district website and share it with your local TV station to drive interest and awareness of Toastmasters in your area.
