Review Month-End Closing Dates

Who Won Your District Speech Contest?

Attention lieutenant governors education and training: Please email your Report of District International Speech Contest Winner form to on the Monday following your district's International Speech Contest. This form was emailed to LGETs on March 25. Please contact us if you haven't received it.

Treasurers: Have You Completed Your Quarter 3 Report?

The Quarter 3 Treasurer's Report was due to World Headquarters April 30. If you have not yet submitted it, please follow these steps: (1) enter all financial transactions through March 31 into the district accounting system; (2) reconcile bank accounts as of March 31; (3) notify World Headquarters to close the books; and (4) email the completed Monthly Narratives and Signed Certification spreadsheet to

Area Governors: Submit Club Visit Reports by May 31

Are your clubs fostering a supportive learning environment and delivering the best possible member experience? During your visits, evaluate clubs based on the six club quality standards listed in Moments of Truth. Get Ready to Report Alignment Changes

In June, district leaders will receive an important email from with instructions for submitting alignment changes for the 2014-2015 program year. Please report changes to World Headquarters by July 15.

Submit Club Charter Forms Early

More clubs charter in June than any other time of the year, so please send your new club forms early for timely processing. Be sure to include all required signatures and the proper amount of funds. If you have questions, email them to

Handbooks for Incoming Officers

If your club chose to receive its Club Leadership Handbooks (Item 1310) in English, seven copies will be delivered to the club mailing address this month. Clubs that chose another language will receive the mailing in June. Please distribute one to each newly elected officer. The updated information, insight and direction the handbooks provide will help all club officers carry out their role-specific responsibilities.

Beat the Clock by June 30

Motivate club members to finish the program year on schedule. Make membership-building fun and encourage members to participate in the "Beat the Clock" contest that began May 1. Welcome club visitors with guest packets that include information about your club and the organization. Show Off Your Club Video

Each month, clubs from around the globe enter the Toastmasters video contest. Share your club's enthusiasm and your club could win branded materials. Winning videos will appear on the Toastmasters International website and social media sites. See contest details. District Leader Training

From August 18-19, Toastmasters International will conduct a training program for 2014-2015 district governors and lieutenant governors to develop core district-leadership skills, share best practices and network with other leaders. This event will be held prior to the International Convention in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Attention outgoing district governors: Immediately after elections, please email the list of newly elected district leaders to Once this step is completed, district governors and lieutenant governors will receive a special invitation to register for training and book airfare and lodging. They should not purchase plane tickets before they receive the invitation. Details about hotel options will be included in the invitation. Please see Policy 8.3: District Leader Expenses.

Train New Area and Division Governors

District governors and lieutenant governors: Please use these materials as the core curriculum of your area and division governor training program. Free facilitator guides, participant workbooks and slideshows will provide incoming leaders the practical knowledge they need to succeed in their leadership roles.

Treasurers: Take Advantage of Virtual Training

New Titles for District Leaders Starting in 2015

In February 2014, the Board of Directors approved the renaming of district leader roles effective July 1, 2015. As the 2015-2016 incoming district leaders take on their new leadership roles, they will also be the first leaders to carry the new contemporary district leader titles.
