District Leader Training

From August 19-20, Toastmasters International will conduct the District Leader Training program to help incoming district leaders succeed in their roles. During the two-day program, 2013-2014 district governors and lieutenant governors have the opportunity to develop core district-leadership skills, share best practices and network with other leaders. This training event will be held prior to the International Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio.

District Treasurers: Take Advantage of Virtual Training

District treasurers will get up to speed quickly by accessing webinars and e-learning tools that are designed to help them learn and perform their role effectively. A helpful guide, Managing District Finances (Item 1307), is also available. Area and Division Governors: Partake in Interactive Online Training

Training materials for area and division governors can be downloaded for free. Find facilitator guides, participant workbooks, and more on the Toastmasters International website. The interactive learning sessions are designed to provide the practical knowledge that area and division governors need to succeed in their leadership roles throughout the year.

How Is Your District Performing?

The District Recognition Program for 2012-2013 ends June 30. Make sure your district is on target to meet its goals by monitoring the District Performance Reports frequently.

1+1 Membership Building Campaign?

Last month, World Headquarters sent a 1+1 marketing campaign kit to district leaders for their upcoming district conferences. Be sure to share the 1+1 marketing materials with club leaders and members, and encourage them to inspire their friends, family and colleagues to join a club.

Proxies Are Coming

Toastmasters clubs hold the most important voting power in the organization. This month, club presidents and secretaries will receive an email from World Headquarters about proxy information for the Annual Business Meeting, to be held August 24 at the International Convention. Make sure your club discusses and decides who will carry its vote to the meeting. District governors should follow up with club leaders and encourage them to designate their proxies. For more information, please visit www.toastmasters.org/proxyquestions.
