  • Open House Showcase Deadline

    If you held a successful open house in January, you may be eligible for a 30-percent discount on your next club order.   • Make the FreeToastHost 2.0 Transition

    Please update your club website to FreeToastHost 2.0 by February 16. On February 17, the FreeToastHost 1.0 platform will no longer function. If you need assistance, go to support.toastmastersclubs.org.


  • Reminder for California Clubs

    California-based clubs are required to file the 199N e-Postcard electronically with the California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) by May 15 for the 2011 tax year. On January 16, club presidents and treasurers received an email from World Headquarters containing filing instructions and an entity identification number. This requirement to file 199N e-Postcard with the California FTB is in addition to filing the federal 990-N e-Postcard. If you have questions, email 199N@toastmasters.org.


  • U.S. Clubs: Submit Your IRS 990-N e-Postcard

    U.S.-based clubs are required to electronically file the 990-N e-Postcard with the Internal Revenue Service by May 15 for the 2011 tax year. Club presidents and treasurers received an email from World Headquarters on January 16 containing filing instructions and their club's federal employer identification number. If you have any questions, please email 990N@toastmasters.org.




  • District Treasurers: Submit Your Mid-year Audit Treasurer's Report

    Please submit the Mid-year Audit Treasurer's Report to districtfinancialreports@toastmasters.org by February 15. Additionally, supporting documentation and the original signed report should be received by World Headquarters on or before February 15. For the report to be considered complete, update the district accounting system through December 2011 and include your signature and the signatures of the district governor and at least three members of the audit committee on the Monthly Narratives and Certification spreadsheets.


  • Club Officer Training Report Deadline

    By now, the second round of training for club officers should be well underway. Please submit training reports online by March 31, so that your clubs receive credit toward the Distinguished Club Program. Check your district report regularly under Distinguished Club Program by Division/Area for accuracy.

  

 

Submit Dues Renewals Next Month

Beginning March 1, officers can submit renewals through the Toastmasters website by accessing Club Central. On February 29, club officers will receive an email reminding them about April dues renewals.

 

Talk Up Toastmasters!

This popular club-building contest began February 1 and ends March 31. Add five new, dual or reinstated members to your roster, and receive a special "Talk up Toastmasters!" ribbon to display on your club banner. For more information, go to www.toastmasters.org/membershipcontests. 

 

Is Your Club Difficult to Find? 

Help prospective members find your meeting location by updating your club information online. Be sure to include your club's most current contact information, including a phone number and an email address.

Thank you to all district leaders from around the globe who participated in the 2011-2012 Mid-year Training. Your discussions, sharing of best practices and collaboration made training valuable for all attendees.

 

International Officer and Director Visits

Is your district scheduled to receive an international officer or director visit? If so, view the District Visits webpage. Click on the appropriate visit you are scheduled to receive, and follow the steps to ensure that your visit is a success.

 

Area Governor Club Visits

Club visits are critical to an area governor's success, and they help clubs flourish within the Toastmasters organization and community at large. For credit in the Distinguished Area Program, each area governor is required to visit each club in their area two times during the year and submit an Area Governor's Club Visit Report (Item 1471). Club visits should take place between July 1 and November 30 and between January 1 and May 31.

 

Branding for Your District Conference

Your district's conference is an ideal opportunity to display the Toastmasters refreshed brand to members. As you design your materials, please follow the brand manual, and download the logo and design elements from the brand portal. Visit the Creating Materials webpage to ensure that you are communicating the brand properly. Submit your best work to the brand showcase for recognition!

February 2012 Board Briefing

The February 2012 Toastmasters International Board of Directors Briefing will be held Saturday, February 11, at 10 a.m. (Pacific Time) at World Headquarters in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. In this open-to-the-public briefing, the Board will share the results of its February session. Live video streaming will be available online during the briefing, and a recording will be posted to the Toastmasters website after the event.
