Are Your District's Clubs Growing? Congratulations!

Just make sure they’re doing it right.

The club officers responsible for registering members at World Headquarters need to be made aware that they have two groups to handle. As their district officer, you can help make sure they know what to do:

The first group is easy.
New members who have no past history with Toastmasters can be added online. Club officers can simply add them at members.toastmasters.org.

The second group is almost as easy.
Any new members in their club who fall into one of these three groups cannot be added online:

  • Reinstated members  (members who left Toastmasters but are now returning)
  • Dual members (members of more than one active club)
  • Transferred members (members of one active club who are moving to another club)

Remind the club officers to mail in their reinstated, dual and transferred members’ applications, with dues, to:

Toastmasters International
Attn: Membership
23182 Arroyo Vista
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 92688

Alternately, they may fax them in with a credit card number to:

Fax: 949-858-1207

Club and district officers may call WHQ for more information at 949-858-8255

How can club officers know which group someone belongs in?
Remind your club officers to be sure all new club members fill out their applications completely, including the section covering these membership issues. Then, they need to check for that information on each application when they prepare to turn in lists of new members to World Headquarters.

Why is this necessary?
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this two-part process. In order to keep all members’ records safe, secure and correct within our current database system, Toastmasters International has determined that this method is necessary for the time being. The process will eventually be merged in the most cost-efficient manner for Toastmasters. As a nonprofit organization, we strive to balance technological improvements with cost effectiveness. Please pass along our thanks to the club officers for all their help!
