Sal Asad, DTM, recently retired from his longtime job with the Federal Reserve System in Richmond, Virginia. He had worked in the Federal Reserve Information Technology office doing resource planning and customer relations management.
He belongs to two clubs in Virginia: the Richmond FedMasters club (his home club) and the Galloping Gourmet Toastmasters. Asad joined Toastmasters to improve his listening, speaking and thinking skills. He says, "What I got most out of my Toastmasters experience is building my leadership skills. A successful leader must be a good communicator. Toastmasters has had a big impact on my personal and professional life.”
Asad is a Project Management Professional (PMP), has his private pilot’s license and travels around the world. He lives in Richmond with his wife, Zena. They have five adult children -- Tim, Sami, Rana, Rula and Kerry – and four grandchildren. Their son Sami is also a Toastmaster.
