John Lau, DTM

John Lau, DTM, is the owner of a management consultancy firm specializing in human capital development, corporate restructuring and information technology. Lau also holds advanced degrees in several fields, including a Ph.D. in strategic marketing. In addition, he is a lecturer in marketing management and leadership, writes a weekly column called “Leadership Voice” for a leading newspaper in Malaysia and is a Supreme Council member of the People’s Progressive Party of Malaysia, a component party of the Malaysian Federal Government.
A dedicated Toastmaster for 19 years and current member of the Kuching Mandarin and Connections Toastmasters club, Lau has held a number of distinguished leadership positions within the organization. He credits the organization’s service to its members for much of his personal development. “Toastmasters’ core values of integrity, dedication to excellence, respect for the individual and service to its members closely match my own beliefs,” says Lau. “They have enabled me to grow as a professional, and as a Malaysian business leader.”
Lau’s interests include reading, music, swimming, surfing, golf, fishing, jogging and mountain climbing.
