As a director on the Toastmasters International Board of Directors, Heath Suddleson is a “working ambassador” for the organization and represents it in a variety of capacities. He works with the Board to develop, support and modify the policies and procedures that guide the organization toward fulfilling its mission.
A resident of Potomac, Maryland, Suddleson joined Toastmasters in 2002 to help his work team give better briefings to executive management. He says, “I discovered an opportunity for professional development and self improvement that I had never imagined.” Suddleson has attained the Distinguished Toastmaster designation – the highest level of achievement in the organization. His many leadership positions within Toastmasters have included division governor, lt. governor education and training, lt. governor marketing, and district governor.
Suddleson is a member of Tower Talkers Toastmasters, as well as Traveling Tastemasters, Norbeck Toastmasters and Bechtel Powermasters clubs. “Professionally, I would not have the position I have today were it not for Toastmasters. The experience I gained and qualifications I developed in Toastmasters leadership were crucial in my being qualified to serve in my current position,” he says.
A Principal Scheduling Engineer for the Bechtel Corporation in Frederick, Maryland, Suddleson belongs to the American Legion, the Project Management Institute and the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering. His interests include travel, motorcycles, scuba diving and sports.
