Annelie Weber, DTM
International Director, Region VII

Term of Office: 2008-2010

Annelie Weber, DTM, worked for nearly 30 years in different staff jobs for the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. She has also devoted many years advocating for the men and women of the United States Armed Forces, both active and retired.

A longtime Toastmaster, Weber belongs to three clubs, all in Maryland: the Frederick Toastmasters, DTM Leaders and A-Spiring Toastmasters. She joined the Capitol Hill Toastmasters club in 1980 because she wanted to improve her communication and leadership abilities as a congressional staff member. “Toastmasters has opened doors to numerous for-profit and nonprofit organizations that have offered membership and speaking opportunities,” says Weber, a board member of the Korea War Veterans Memorial Foundation. “It has empowered me to seek to be more than I ever thought I could be.”

She and her husband, retired U.S. Army Col. William E. Weber, live in New Windsor, Maryland, and have two adult children, Mark and Karen. Annelie loves outdoor sports such as skiing, sailing and horseback riding.
