Relevant work experience and how it relates to Toastmasters and your role as a region advisor:
As a professional speaker and speaking coach, I work with clients to help them “stand out” when they “speak up.” As a leader, messaging is vital to your reputation and your success. When you are leading volunteers you need to be inspiring, persuasive and immediately relevant when you speak. My background in marketing management served me well when I was a district leader and proved very useful in leading teams, selling concepts and ideas. I look forward to sharing my expertise with leaders so that they can excel.
What key strengths do you bring to the district leaders?
I am passionate about how we communicate with one another. There is power in being purposeful, persuasive and relevant every time you speak. Connecting with your team as individuals on an emotional level goes a long way towards inspiring and building a team that delivers results. I am so looking forward to sharing practical tips and techniques with district leaders so that they can lead their teams in an authentic, confident manner. My experience working with corporate clubs has allowed me to share strategies that deliver results for district leaders.
Why are you interested in serving as region advisor?
My years as a district leader were enriched as a result of the input and insight I received from region advisors. They had a perspective that was invaluable to me, and their support made a world of difference. I want to offer that support to the district leaders I will serve. My professional marketing management background and my communication skills will be put to good use in the service of district leaders.
