How does your experience relate to Toastmasters and the region advisor role:
The role of the Region Advisor is to coach and mentor district leaders to achieve the district mission using the Distinguished District Program. I believe that the single biggest challenge is retaining members (and clubs) and growing new clubs; however, my own district has been challenged by the failure to encourage clubs to be distinguished. Being from a club that has been Presidents Distinguished with all ten goals since we were chartered, I know it can be done, but members must be encouraged to succeed.
What is your experience with coaching individuals and/or teams? What key strengths do you bring to the district leaders?
I am currently working with this year’s club growth director to help her understand her focus and help her get to know our 110 clubs, since each club is different. At work, I run book clubs to across our various teams to help us build trust and a collaborative environment.
Why are you interested in serving as region advisor?
I want to help other districts and members. I love coaching and mentoring and encouraging teamwork.
