Hailing from South Carolina, Jonas Gadson, DTM, is a radio show host and professional speaker. He also runs a corporate training company committed to helping people reach personal and professional greatness. As a member of the National Speakers Association and Toastmasters International, Gadson specializes in motivational speeches and is known as “Mr. Enthusiastic.”
When Gadson decided to lift his fortunes in life, he first sought to improve his communication skills. School was a part of his self-improvement program. However, when he stood before a speech class, his enunciation was so marred by a thick Southern accent that his classmates began to laugh. He responded by announcing, “You all can laugh at me now – I am here to achieve an A in public speaking.” They all laughed again. He did, however, achieve that A and enjoyed the last laugh.
Gadson calls Toastmasters his “learning laboratory” and has worked diligently to build a successful speaking career with the training he’s received in meetings. He often gives that extra bit of help to his clients and calls it a “bonus from Jonas.” His advice to prepare adequately is directed to his fellow Toastmasters and comes from his experiences as a public speaker.
